Kirklees Recycling Hero Awards
Kirklees Council is inviting residents and businesses to nominate their local recycling heros.
Recycling, repairing, reusing and reducing waste are immensely important to help lessen the impact of waste material on our environment. The council’s vision is for Kirklees to have zero avoidable waste by 2038, but that requires action from all of us.
The Kirklees Recycling Hero Awards aim to recognise the gold standard for reducing, reusing, and recycling in Kirklees. Local businesses, schools, community groups and individuals can all be nominated, with the awards covering five categories:
- Recycling Hero (individual achievement)
- Business Recycling Hero
- School and Youth Activity Recycling Hero (schools, youth clubs, Scouts and Guides)
- Young Recycling Hero (under 17 years old)
- Community Award (individual or group working in the community)
Nominations are open until 30 November 2026, with winners announced in March 2027.
