Climate Commission seeks the truth on climate change from Kirklees parliamentary candidates
The Kirklees Climate Commission (KCC) is asking all Kirklees candidates in the General Election to tell voters the truth about what they will do to promote inclusive action on climate change.
What is climate change and why it matters in Kirklees?

Volunteering for Kirklees Climate Commission means we are surrounded by climate experts who often have decades of experience, and sometimes it can be mind-blowing. We have volunteered to help because we know it matters but do, we really know why? In this article, we aim to demystify and help us all make more sense of it all and know why, and what we need to do.
The Commission is an independent advocate for climate action, we are dedicated to fostering fair, innovative, and effective responses to climate change in the Kirklees district.
Our mission is to communicate the critical climate challenges we face, provide trusted advice and services for climate mitigation and adaptation, and actively engage in projects that bridge the gap to net zero. We are committed to monitoring progress, catalysing impactful initiatives, and ensuring our approach embodies fairness, inclusion, and diversity.
The Commission works with the community and stakeholders to create a sustainable future for Kirklees.
The Kirklees Climate Commission began as part of the Place-Based Climate Action Network (PCAN).
