People’s Emergency Briefing film screenings
The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency. Yet most people have never been fully briefed on what it means for our lives, our economy and our future.
People’s Emergency Briefing is a new film from the National Emergency Briefing. It sets out the risks facing the nation – and the credible, positive responses available – in a clear and accessible account designed for community screenings.
The film follows the National Emergency Briefing event in November 2025, which brought together leading experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis to politicians and other influential people in Westminster. This vital message is now being shared across the UK, bringing together people from across local communities to hear the evidence and discuss how to respond.
The Kirklees Climate Commission is supporting screenings in our district. Following a first event in Huddersfield on 3 June, upcoming screenings include:
- Monday 29 June, 6.45pm, at the Huddersfield Quaker Meeting House, Paddock HD1 4TR.
- Saturday 18 July, 3pm, at the Royal British Legion, Marsden HD7 6AJ.
Events are free to attend, and will include a post-screening discussion.
Screenings of the People’s Emergency Briefing are also being planned in Dewsbury, Holmfirth, Slaithwaite and Armitage Bridge. We’ll post links here as details are confirmed, or you can check out the national screenings map for the latest information.
